The Village of Fraser Lake has again been contacted by “The Dimestore Fisherman” —-an action packed half hour television program that airs weekly at various times throughout North America. The show’s home base is Calgary, Alberta and the program features tours of various lakes, oceans, rivers and ice fishing locations.

Episodes focus on exposing the history, cultural and recreational aspects of the great Canadian communities they visit. Information is available on their website http://www.dimestorefishermen.com.

This is our chance to showcase Fraser Lake, Francois Lake, the Stellako River and other nearby lakes and rivers. We all know what we have to offer and it is time for us to share what we have with the rest of the world.

Cost to bring the show to our area is approximately $10,000 as well as accommodation for the crew for a couple of days. We are asking that if anyone is interested in bringing this show to Fraser Lake to please contact Sylvia Legary at the Village Office 250-699-6257. We are looking for commitments of sponsorship (financial, donation of accommodations or meals, guiding for the fishermen) any financial commitments received by the Village will be refunded to the donating party if the project is not funded to a level that permits it to happen.

We would like to thank the Fraser Lake and District Chamber of Commerce for their interest in this project – they have pledged $1,000 to bringing this event to Fraser Lake.
